today started off fairly nice and then as the day wore on it got colder and windier and suckier. stupid weather! it's supposed to stay gorgeous and happy forever.

anyway, i still went bike shopping today. i went to northtowne cycling and fitness in CR and the sales dude was particularly helpful and nice. i discovered that the sales staff doesn't work on commission so they were actually helpful rather than you-need-this-bike-right-now helpful. the dude showed me a lot of stuff and i got to test ride a few in the parking lot (but i was absolutely forbidden from riding in the streets because i didn't have a helmet). i loved the women's giant cypress. it felt soooooooo good to ride and went super fast. the shifting was fantastic...so much better than any other bike i've ever ridden let alone owned. so, the dude offered me a discount on top of their sale price on their 2006 models but i found that in iowa city the very same bike is still even cheaper. it's still more than i want to spend right now (on anything) but it is such a great purchase and something that i would definitely use a lot...especially once i return to iowa city. hmmm....what to do, what to do? any helpful thoughts?



this is the blue (that i don't think i like). it also comes is a dark gray. i'm not the biggest fan of either color but i suppose it's more about the ride than the color. yeah, yeah...
